One can either go on to study nursing overseas or go there as an experienced nurse. Registered Indian nurses need to take up IRON program.

The IRON program is a bridging program designed for overseas qualified nurses who wish to practice nursing in Australia. The program is approved and considered by the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMAC).

Eligibility for Study Nursing Courses

Relevant educational qualification.
Completion of an Australian Advanced Diploma or Diploma (or equivalent).

Eligibility for Study Visa

Before applying for student visa in Australia (i.e Sydney, Adelaide, Reservoir, Melbourne), you must have:

A valid passport for the duration of your study in Australia
Offer letter from the selected nursing colleges/university/institution
Evidence of access to sufficient funds*
Evidence of Overseas Student Health Cover
All other relevant documents listed on the Department of Immigration and Border Protection visa checklists.
